At Honoring Spaces, we collaborate with clients to enhance their physical environment when they've been given a terminal diagnosis and have chosen to spend their final days at home. The services we offer are at the intersection of a client's spiritual and practical needs. Just as a mother bird builds a nest to protect her delicate offspring, we help clients to adapt the physical surroundings for respite, quiet reflection and for peaceful endings for the one who is dying and for their caregivers.
The creation of an honoring space is not only soothing, calming and a means to connect to loved ones more deeply before they go through the transition of dying, the honoring space can also serve as a space to host a living memorial. The family doesn't have to be constrained to a traditional funeral after a loved dies to honor them. Through the creation of this physical space, you can honor your loved one while they are able to participate.

So what is involved in creating an Honoring Space?
Creating the physical environment includes gathering items that are meaningful to the one who is dying. They may own the items or someone else may offer them on loan to add to the space. Or, clients may choose to purchase items recommended by Honoring Spaces. We're happy to assist clients in sourcing all of the items whether they're owned, on loan or purchased.
If you're interested in exploring the services of Honoring Spaces, please start by completing the Initial Client Assessment. We will review your responses once they are electronically submitted. After that, we will contact you via the email address provided in the assessment to schedule an initial free, 30 minute consultation.
While we're located just south of San Francisco, we work with clients anywhere in the world. We're flexible on how we can do the initial consultation. It can be done in person, or virtually with a phone call or a video chat. Responding to the assessment before we connect is helpful but not required.

As the principal of Honoring Spaces, I collaborate with individuals to intentionally create physical spaces for quiet reflection and meaningful conversation. I especially enjoy the challenge of working in small spaces and with limited funds. When I became a an end of life doula, I realized I could combine my affinity for creating warm and inviting spaces with my desire to comfort people who are facing the challenges and overwhelm associated with dying. Contact me to discuss how I can help you to create an Honoring Space for you or your loved one today.
